On behalf of the Officers, Civilian Staff and Police Services Board of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service, we would like to welcome you to our Website and thank you for visiting.
The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) is a unique indigenous policing service, where we are privileged to serve Canada’s only Unceded Territory of Wiikwemkoong, on beautiful Manitoulin Island.
The WTPS takes great pride in providing a culturally sensitive Police Service that specifically addresses the needs, traditions, values and inherent rights of the Community. From the proactive safety patrols to major investigations, our Officers are committed to providing the best Policing Services possible. The task of keeping our Community safe, secure and healthy is a collaborative effort between local citizens, Community Resources, the Offices and Staff, local Government and the Police Services Board. Through our collective partnerships, we are all dedicated to making a difference in our Community.
I am honoured to be welcomed in the Community as the Chief of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service. I have also been privileged to work with dedicated Officers and Staff who take pride in their roles and the Territory we serve. As a result of having excellent people to work with and strong cultural and traditional ties, the philosophy of Policing for the WTPS comes with the emphasis on our 7 Grandfather Teachings of: Love, Respect, Courage, Bravery, Honesty, Humility and Truth.
Please continue to find out more about our Service and the great Community we serve through our Website, Facebook Page and Twitter and explore the links we have included for your information.
